Sites in Oklahoma City – Things to Do with the Whole Family
There are so many wonderful sites in Oklahoma that you are sure to find something the whole family loves. Oklahoma city is a great spot to explore animals, bones, art, and cowboys.
Oklahoma City Things to Do *Museum of Art
This small and really cool museum has so much to offer the family when you visit. Not only can see some of the most amazing glass sculptures from Chihuly but you can eat, enjoy live music on the roof, and have high tea like the queen! We love this spot!

Oklahoma City Things to Do *State of Oklahoma – Capitol Building Tour
You can tour the capitol building in Oklahoma. We love to visit capitol buildings, once seeing three in one whirlwind week (Denver, CO; Oklahoma City, OK; and Austin, Texas) and getting to compare them. The OKC capitol building is especially cool because off the dome that wasn’t added until 85 years AFTER the buidling completion.

Oklahoma City Things to Do *Bone Museum
This bone museum is the only museum of its kind in the United States. You’ll see nearly 300 completely skeletons of all sorts of animals and people which are all part of the world’s largest private collection of skeletons. The owner’s hobby, now career, started when he was only seven bringing home a skull he found out while exploring. Â Later he put together a skeleton for a science fair and began his long career with bones.
This collection of bones is one of my all time favorite things to do in Oklahoma City. Do not miss the opportunity to take the kids.

Oklahoma City Things to Do *Oklahoma City National Museum
I was teaching 5th grade in Lawton, Oklahoma (about 1 1/2 hours from OKC) the morning of April 19, 1995, the day of the Oklahoma City bombing. Our 6th graders were scheduled to go on a field trip just a few days later to the very spot. I was so stunned when I heard the word that I couldn’t even process the information for a bit.
The museum and outdoor memorial to the victims of the bombing is interesting, tasteful and something not to miss out. Come learn about that fateful day, the power of people coming together to help one another, how law enforcement tracked down the criminal responsible and more. Touching and moving – be sure to visit.

Oklahoma City Things to Do *The American Pigeon Museum & Library
I know what you are thinking…a museum for pigeons? Yes, it’s true and you should visit. Pigeons are really interesting birds that do a whole lot more than hang out in parks and poop on people. These birds have helped out in wars and are really smart. How smart? Well, they can recognize the entire alphabet AND recognize themselves in a mirror. Other than pigeons, only mammals can do that!

I live in Dallas so I am relatively close to Oklahoma city! Had no idea there is Chihuly there! I will have to make a trip!
You might want to make a road trip! The collection is the largest of Chihuly and really amazing.
wow, those skeletons sound cool!
It really was the coolest thing! They also have a spot where you can watch the beetles cleaning off a new skull which is the first step in preparing one for display or sale.
